The Fresno Kendo Dojo was established by Master Harutane Chiba in the 1980's. Master Chiba hailed from a family of Kendo instructors of 36 generations. Kendo is the traditional art of Japanese fencing. Kendo strengthens and enhances the physical, mental, and spiritual character by teaching discipline and respect along with self-defense characteristics. The dojo is now located at 4168 N. 1st Street in Fresno, California.
