John Cho's Kung-fu School is one of the more established martial arts school in Fresno, having been at their present location for over thirteen years. They teach Longfist kung-fu as their main style. In addition, the school has gained recognition for their lion dance team, amateur kickboxers, and Chinese weaponry. The lion dance team performs at many Chinese businesses during the new year, the kickboxers have won amateur titles, and the weapons are composed of single sets as well as two man fighting sets.
John Cho has been involved in the Chinese martial arts for over thirty years. He started studying kung-fu with Lin Jun-pai at Fresno State in the 1970's. He sees kung-fu as both an art and science. The art is to make the movements natural to yourself, while the science is to understand why and what you do.
