06-03) Safety and Welfare – Passed 12-06-06
Safety
and Welfare of Students, Staff and Faculty at State Center Community College
District, was brought to the Senate by the Executive Committee. President Santos invited Chief Cal=
lahan to
address the Academic Senate regarding the overall safety of the Fresno City
College Campus. The Safety
Resolution was supported by the Reedley Academic Senate, FCC Classified Sen=
ate,
and has been endorsed by the North Centers Faculty Association. All concerns
were addressed and a web page that lists Sex Offenders that attend classes =
was
instituted, cameras on campus are being installed.(A
request was made for more police to be on campus, increase awareness of and
training in safety measures, and to increase lighting throughout the campus=
and
parking lot.)

that students shall be allowed to use personal vehicles on both intra-distr=

06-04 Pouring Rights – Defeated 02-14-07
The
Fresno City College Associated Student government passed a resolution oppos=
ing
the excusive sale of Coca-Cola products on the FCC campus and brought their=
concerns
to the Academic Senate. A
resolution was submitted by the Ad Hoc Pouring Rights Committee to allow
non-exclusive sales rights on campus, which was defeated.

revised, informational resolution was submitted by the Ad Hoc Pouring Rights
Committee stating that the Academic Senate supports freedom of choice for s=

drinks available on campus and supports ending monopoly pouring rights
contracts.
